Over 6.7 million Jews now live in Israel. This is 46% of the estimated 14.5 million Jews in the world. The Jewish population of Israel now exceeds that of the United States by roughly one million.
The significance of these numbers is that now more Jews live in Israel than in any other country in the World, and soon, when another half a million Jews live here, the majority of Jews in the world will be living in Israel.
When this happens it will bring some changes in Jewish Law and in our spiritual level of awareness. Certain Torah Laws apply only when the majority of Jews live in Israel and we will then see these Laws renewed for the first time in over two thousand years. As for our level of spiritual awareness, when the majority of the Jews in the World live in the Land it will become easier to reveal Hashem's Presence in our lives.
If you want a lot more jews in HaArets then they better provide a place where they can build cities towns and villages without fear of having them destroyed!
ReplyDeleteIt is a worthwhile struggle to immigrate. We need to help new arrivals feel welcome. Is everyone aware of Misrad haPnim's discouraging lack of service. It is a cruel and ecpensive "black box" process to apply for a visa.
ReplyDeleteYes right
DeleteYes, it's definitely a challenge. Only the blessed chosen and/or very determined will get through. Apparently that's the way it needs to be.
