A Tough Israeli Cop

   by Reb Gutman Locks

He came over to the tefillin stand with his son. His son is an officer in the IDF. I asked him what his rank was when he was in the army. He said that he didn't do the army, but was a police officer instead.

He was a tough guy. He was a tough guy that is until I told him to put his right hand on his son's head and say the traditional blessing fathers give to their children. He broke down crying. The son smiled at his father's love for him…he looked like a little boy when he heard his father crying.

That's the way it goes around here…tough as nails on the outside, and melted butter on the inside.
