The Shechina vs the Animal

   by Reb Gutman Locks

The Shechina vs the Animal

Yesterday, a young tourist was walking through the Rova. Her dress was not modest…, not at all. In fact her blouse was so low that when she walked by you could see the boys staring at her with their eyes popping out of their heads. You could almost hear the animals inside them growling. GRHHHHHHHHH! And this is what she wanted, or she would not be dressed like that.

Almost immediately a group of soon-to-graduate, older seminary girls walked by... girls who have lived all their lives knowing that Hashem is watching over them. I happened to glance at one of the girl's faces.

(I wonder if you will believe me here, but what I am sharing with you really happened.)

The glow that precedes a revelation of Hashem's holiness, radiated…, hovered by her face. What a unique delight to see! Not only was she physically beautiful, but she represents everything holy a Jewish girl can bring into the world; Torah, mitzvahs, family, the continuation of the Jewish people…. She is actually Sarah our Mother in the world today. "A woman of valor who can find…"[i]

And not a single animal growled when she walked by.

[i] Proverbs 31:10

  1. What is it your business anyways? I see many Charedi and Chabad women dressing like hookers with their wigs on, heavy make up, short skirts. Actually that is the source of wigs, hookers!!!! They would insist they are dressing all in the name of "God". Maybe we should mind our own business instead of playing Gods Vicar!!

  2. @Shiloh - The Baal Shem Tov says like this, "Your fellow is your mirror. If your own face is clean, so will be the image you perceive. But should you look upon your fellow and see a blemish, it is your own imperfection that you are encountering - you are being shown what it is that you must correct within yourself."

Why lambaste R. Locks? Why behave like the Saudi religious police? Why attack Charedi and Chabad women? Why do you constantly make it your business to spew your Karaite-esque venom against your fellow Jews? Don't they get enough of this from the Goyim? Is it Rabbinic Judaism in general you have a problem with or is it just the Hasidim? What's your story? Who are you? I'd really like to know.
