Don’t Worry

by Reb Gutman Locks @ Mystical Paths

If a mitzvah seems too hard for you… too high for you to reach… and you think that you just can’t do it… don’t give up. You can always stand on a chair or on someone else’s shoulders and reach it.*

*“Standing on someone else’s shoulders” means following what others who have gone before us have handed down. When we use the advice of the previous generations it is as if we are standing on their shoulders. Each generation need not make the same mistakes and experience the same dangers that the previous generations experienced. We can learn from their lives and utilize the tools that they gave us to help us accomplish our spiritual goals.

  1. there is also the halacha about being able to light the menorah in the beit hamikdash with a long pole from outside the heichal.
