Burning the Chametz

by Reb Akiva @ Mystical Paths

2013-03-25 Burning Chometz Before Passover 037On the morning before Passover, we burn the chametz – we dispose of any remaining leavened products in our possession by a symbolic burning.

Burning the physical chametz is easy.  The question is, how do we rid ourselves of spiritual chametz – of our puffed up ego and sense of self importance.

One can only bring the Passover sacrifice if one has eliminated all his chametz…. have we?

A Kosher and Happy Passover to all of our readers and all of Klal Yisroel!

(Tomorrow is the Jewish holiday of Passover, observed from Monday night through Tuesday night in Israel and Monday night through Wednesday night (2 days) outside of Israel.  We observe the Jewish holy days and do no work or creative activities on them, and being in Israel that means no posts tomorrow.)  Learn about Passover here.
