After they read the Shema…

at the Western Wall with Reb Gutman Locks on Mystical Paths

I tell them; “Close your eyes… picture everyone you love, one at a time. Try to see them with light on their faces and smiling and ask G-d to bless them. You are in the holiest place in the world, doing the holiest thing you can do, you can share this with your loved ones. Ask G-d to guide you in life so you figure out what you were created for, and you accomplish your purpose for being here. Ask Him to protect those of us who are in danger. Don’t forget to thank Him for all of the good that He has given you. Take a couple of minutes and talk to G-d. You are not a tourist here. You are a Jew coming home.”

Then, for the group picture, I tell them that they have to marry a Jewish girl or, “Your mother will break both your legs, and your grandmother will hold you down when she does it!”
