Jews Speak of Blessings

by Reb Akiva @ Mystical Paths

thumbnail (1)Jews speak of blessings.  It’s not the way of the Jewish people or the prophets of G-d to curse or to threaten.

The prophets may sometimes warn, and plead with the people to return to their Father in Heaven to avoid negative predictions (prophecy).

But the path of the Jew is to speak of blessings and to bring blessings.  Every country the Jews have become a part of have been imbued with blessings.  “Those that bless you will be blessed.”

We may, G-d forbid, see that Jews were persecuted in a place and that place had a ‘turn of luck’.  Or see that the Jews left or fled from a place, and it changed from a place of influence and power to otherwise.

Yet we don’t focus on such things nor point them out.  The only time to focus on and study the opposite of blessings is on Tisha B’Av.

Otherwise, we focus on blessings.  We offering blessing and, through our Father in Heaven, bring blessings with us.

That is the way of the Jew, the path of blessings.

Shavua Tov, may you be blessed with a good week.  And may the Jews of Southern Israel be safe and at peace.

(learned from the Lubavitcher Rebbe)
