Free Viagra to boost birth rates!

by Reb Akiva at Mystical Paths

UPI news - The mayor of a French town is aiming to combat the decline in the local population by offering couples free Viagra.  The mayor signed a degree that he is willing to distribute Viagra to local couples in a bid to boost birth rates and stop local schools from being shut down due to under-population.

The majority of the civilized world has decided to commit self extinction by not having children.

"But wait Reb Akiva, I've been hearing for the past 50 years that the Earth is over populated, that we're about to run out of resources, that people are having so many children that we're all going to have to live 100 people to a room!"

Turns out that problem was solved about 30 years ago.  Here's what it looks like today...

The countries that are PURPLE will be gone in 100 years if things remain as is, suffering societal collapse as they shrink by over 50%.  Some will offset this with intensive immigration, which will overwhelm their culture and civilizational approach - something we already see happening today in parts of Europe.

The prime countries at risk in this category are Japan, Singapore, Italy, and much of Europe.

The countries that are DARK BLUE will shrink, losing population, small towns, and having severe problems with the balance of working age people to elderly.  They may also attempt to offset this with immigration, but unless their cultures are particularly assimilation oriented, their cultures will also be overwhelmed.

All the major world powers are in this category, including the U.S., Russia, China, Australia, France, England, and ones you might not expect like Brazil.

The LIGHT BLUE countries are holding their own or birthing at a reasonable growth pace.  The only 1st world country in this category is ISRAEL.  Other's in this category include Mexico, Argentina, and Turkey.

The remaining colors indicate uncontrolled birth rates.

There are many other factors relating to population levels, such as life expectancy (if people on average are now living til 90, then the 'population' is growing even if birth rates aren't up because people are living longer), disease, health care capabilities, and birth survival rates.

My prediction: More countries will begin offering increasing incentives to have children, and some will begin banning birth control methods.  (Example - "The Iranian parliament has voted to ban all forms of permanent contraception and prohibit the advertisement of birth control.")

  1. The following video below posits one possible cause being Women's access to education for the declining birthrates across much of the 1st world as well as even the 2nd world (including a number of Muslim countries), though Israel seems to be anomaly that is where David P. Goldman (aka Asia Time's Spengler) with a few articles as well as his book How Civilizations Die brings up his own unique take.

The latter brings up the idea of how entire societies can basically lose faith in the future, turn away from having children (living for today instead of planning for tomorrow) and choose instead to accept oblivion. Whereas Israel and other societies that manage to maintain faith in the future (along with where religion still plays a role in people's lives) and the societies they live in generally thrive and are able to buck the trend in much of the 1st and 2nd worlds.
