I was standing by the tefillin stand when he walked by. I couldn't tell where he was from. I asked him in Spanish if he spoke Spanish. He did not respond. I asked if he was from France. No answer. Russian? Again, no answer. Finally, I asked him if he spoke English. He nodded his head, "Yes."
"Where are you from?
"Oh, I was in Lebanon once... In 1982." (I volunteered in the Israeli army at the start of the Lebanon war.)
He said, "Sharon was good. Barak was not good."
He was referring Israeli Prime Ministers back then.
He said, "Thank G-d we are in Israel."
He must have experienced violence in Lebanon.
"Are you x-ian?"
He held out his hand to show me the golden ring on his finger. It had two small crosses and one large one.
Then, with a firm voice he said, "G-d bless Israel."
It is amazing that x-ians are being murdered and their churches destroyed in many countries in the Middle East. In fact, Israel is the only country in the entire Middle East where x-ians can live unmolested and not fear for their lives, yet a huge percentage of x-ians around the world have so quickly and so happily joined the anti-Israel (Jewish-hatred) boycotts.[i] Shame on them.
