Here is a Jewish doctor, a pediatrician from North Carolina. Not so unusual, until he told me that really he is from Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe used to be known as Rhodesia. It is a small landlocked African country that as far as I knew had nothing to do with Jews. Yet, some 100 years ago Jews from Russia and Lithuania settled there and became active in the trading industry. And this Jew's life picked up from there.

For 4,000 years, from Zimbabwe to North Carolina…every Jew has a story. As Hashem told Avraham; "…and all the nations of the earth shall bless themselves by your descendants, because you have obeyed My voice…"[i]

[i] Genesis 22:18
