Headline: Yeshiva President Resigns over Abuse of Boys

We would like to believe that such things don’t happen, that they can’t happen in our communities focused on Torah and G-d.

We would like to believe that inappropriate urges do not plague some people, that prayer and mitzvot protect and correct in every case.

We don’t want to see such horrors in the public eye, we wish to maintain the image of our communities as holy communities.  We don’t want to talk about it…or even think about it.

We do not want to talk to our children about adult matters.  We don’t want to damage their childhood innocence before they are appropriately mature.

We want to believe in people’s innocence, especially those in authority such as rabbis and teachers.  We would like to believe their involvement in holy matters protects them from being drawn into unholy ones.

…we’re wrong.  We must educate and protect our children.  Rabbi Horowitz has taken very appropriate approaches to how to do so in context of our communities.  I urge you to check it out.

It happens more then we wish, there is a dirty underworld in communities while wearing the facade. Yes, educate against these criminals, yes turn them into the police and stop shoving it under the rug in order to protect the facade
