German Jews

by Reb Gutman Locks

German Jews

These two brothers are from Germany. They had never seen tefillin before. I asked them, “What in the world are you doing living in Germany?” They told me that they were born there, their parents were born there, and so were their grandparents. Their grandparents escaped the holocaust by fleeing to England, and then returned after the war.

I told them how important it is for them to marry a Jewish girl. They had not thought of it, but now they really agreed. Still, I wonder how such a thing will happen there.
