There Is A Saying…
by Reb Gutman Locks on Mystical Paths
If you have two Jews, you will have at least three opinions. I think that this is even more so when you have two Israelis. To get the majority here to agree is truly a rare occasion. So it was with great joy that I read today that two-thirds of the Jews in Israel will fast this Yom Kippur, and that over eighty percent will use the day either to pray, or for general introspection.[i]
I could understand if this great majority were agreeing to go to a party, or to take a vacation, but these hundreds of thousands of Jews are agreeing to give up all food and water for 25 hours, and only because it is a holy day…a day that brings compassion and forgiveness for our transgressions.
Surely G-d, You can bring Your redemption now, please.
