Ever since I took a wildflower photography hike with an expert nature photographer in my first year in Israel, I’ve loved getting pictures of wildflowers in Israel.
My favorite spot is Tel Socho, which is the home of the author of the 3rd mishna of Pirke Avos, “Antichnos the man of Socho says…”. His home town is still there (at least the foundations and retaining walls are), and it’s covered with (what’s today) wild grain and wildflowers.
Unfortunately on this photo trip I also took a fall and broke a camera (B”H not any bones). Perhaps if readers appreciate the pictures on the blog, I can run a “replace the blog camera” campaign.
Here we go…
While spring flowers in Israel start with red poppies, a month later it’s bright yellow and white daises.
The blue/purple turmursim are very special, even more so with the right backdrop…
A few late poppies are still out…
But the star of the hill this time of the year is the blue turmursim…

It's like almost being there!
