Rain, Thank G-d

A couple of weeks ago there was a wonderful rain in Israel. It was a tremendous blessing in a year of drought. But now it is gone.

We need more rain. All of you, wherever you are, please think, “Rain, rain, lots of rain in Israel.”

In the Jewish year (5771) before something wonderful should happen G-d willing in the following year or by the end of this year, we need the greatest Teshuvah in all of world history. There seems to be no way to skirt this issue. It is hitting us in our pocketbook. In a sense we are blessed here in Eretz Yisrael to see a direct conection between what G-d wants and what we must do. Even through this curse, the Great Drought, we are blessed. Outside of EY it rains and pours, no matter what is the spiritual condition of its people. Not so here. Outside EY G-d works through concepts such as devaluing currencies or bankruptcies of member states. It is an indirect approach. Not so here.

After such a drought as we have now, I do wonder what will be the price of basic staples in a few months time.

Such a beautiful picture. I don't understand how the country isn't in a major state of emergency because of the drought. People are still watering grass and flowers!
Only by settling our Land and treasuring it and thanking G-d and keeping all the mitzvot will the drought stop.
