The Whole World Says…

U.S. news investigation program 60 Minutes visits the City of David archeological excavations in Jerusalem.

There’s one point that the video didn’t discuss.  While pointing out that the Silwan neighborhood is an Arab populated area, it doesn’t mention that it’s directly opposite the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.  Meaning when you step out the Dung Gate you’re facing Silwan, and the entrance to the City of David is across the street and 1 block into the neighborhood.  Separating a city is a lot harder to discuss when you realize you’re literally talking street by street.

Watch the whole thing.  Two parts, one is 15 minutes, English (and is the primary story), two is 5 minutes and is information that wasn’t worth broadcasting on the air but adds to the story.

  1. We need to talk about the Jewish City, not some mere quarter of it assigned by colonialists to the Jews.
