Keep Silent

by Rabbi Nati @ Mystical Paths

When one hears someone insulting them, they should keep silent, holding their peace.

This is the foundation to Teshuva, the return to Hashem. One has to know that all that occurs to him is all from Hashem. By retorting you only drive away your own holy soul by failing to believe that Hashem is in control over every aspect of creation. This person that complained about you is only a messenger from the Holy One. Everything is sent to you for your own good and to cleanse you from sin.

If now we respond with ego centered anger, we are in effect refusing to accept correction when we have to do just that. The only way to fix what we were sent here to fix is by Teshuva, and the main thing to remember is that it all comes from Hashem. Our tikun comes from returning everything to Hashem by knowing that everything comes from Him the time this is most apparent is when someone hurts us and we say nothing in return, knowing that everything is to scrub us clean and to make us pure. This comes only to teach us understanding. By this the fruit is revealed and the peel removed. The concealment is revealed leaving the inner G-dliness exposed for all to see. Our job is to understanding and know that this is the greatest of gifts from our Father in Heaven.

May we be blessed to stand silent in the face of being told to wait.

Where does the logic break down?

But do we heed our own message that a messenger is from the Holy One? 2000 years plus, has proved that false or confirmed our stuborness to listen. In summation, do as the rabbi's say, not as they do. Have a wonderful week anyways.

someone critisized me recently- I replied nicely and felt that it's better they do it rather than someone else. We just need to look at it as the criticism is like an atonement that cleans us
