Sefirat HaOmer - Bitul and Emunah, Part 1

by Reb Nati at Mystical Paths

In this time of Sefiras HaOmer (the mitzvah of counting of the Omer from Passover until Shavuos) we have to start with emunah and reach the point of bitual. Each one of us has to count Sefiras HaOmer. Unlike other mitzvot we can't be included (like being included in Hamotzi or asking someone to be a shliach for us). We ourselves have to count and be included. As an individual we ourselves must elevate our level each day that we count to rectify the defects that we have caused with our lack of faith.

Lack of emunah is the shoresh (root) of all sins. Mikvah is essential to the repair process, to take a mikvah everyday during sefiras haomer as we pass through these gates and obtain new levels of bitul. Hopefully we reach total nullification and reception of the Torah of truth on vav Sivan. "We will do" and then "we will hear" ???. Remez!! (hint hint) Total commitment to emunah and thus achieving total bitul.

thank you I also have a deeper question if I may that has been bothering. When we go into the mikvah men and women what happens does something click in shomayim that makes us pure( relevant to woman who go from an issur cares to a mitzvah after mikvah and to a non- jew) obviously there is some power (kedusha??) that a mikva attains when it hits the 40 seah is it automatic??? does the mikva know when its missing??
