And another...

by Reb Akiva at Mystical Paths

(via Email) R' Itamar Shwartz, who's famous for his sefer Bilvavi Mishkan Evne, recently went to the US for a speaking tour. At at least two locations, he gave a very strong and direct message, that Jews must move to the Holy Land NOW!!!

R' Shwartz is not any kind of "zionist", he's as charedi "yeshivish" as they come. He was invited to speak because of his sefarim, Bilvavi, and Da Et Atzmecha, which show how to find oneself and connect to Hashem in a true way. In one of the locations his message basically was, I very much want to speak to you about connecting to Hashem, but first we have to take care of the basics... First, come to E'Y, spend most of your time on Torah and not work, and (especially for women) dress with the same tznius as our foremothers. After you do these three things I'll be very happy to speak about the forth one.

The interesting thing is that literally the day afted he left (15 of Elul), the financial crash started.

You can listen to these drashas here. (the ones in Baltimore Shomrei Emunah, and Manhattan Ramat Orah Synagogue)

Just to clarify, R' Shwartz said to come to E'Y because it's the holy land, and it's the natural place for a jew, as opposed to chu'l. He didn't mention the financial crisis or anything like that. But he did say you must move NOW, because that's where you belong! He even said if you have to close things up in the US, first move to E'Y and then take a trip back to close things up.

The timing of the financial crisis is just my own observation, he didn't mention it.

It's kdai to listen to these drashos.

    Shana Tova to all.

My observation basically is that this is probably the first time ever, that a charedi rav of quite a big statue came to the US and gave a heart felt cry: move to the Holy Land NOW! NOW, NOW!because this is where you truly belong! I think this is the first time in history such a thing happened.

And the next day LITERALLY, the market starts to crash...

There could be a message in there, no? Kol dodi dofek, pitchi li...

  3. There's always a message, but most people refuse to listen.

Did anyone bother to go and actually read the Rav's comments which were recorded on his website? He was venomous in his condemnation of American Jewry, especially their "large" houses. He obviously has not seen my house. And his remarks to the women in the audience should stand your hair on end. R. Shwartz takes great pains to hide the details of his personal life. I have to wonder why.
