At the end of my post on the brutal slaughter of innocent Jews in Eilat, I wrote the traditional Jewish saying in such a situation...

May Hashem avenge their blood.

To which commentor Daniels Counter responded, "May Hashem not avenge, but carry the spirit of peace into the lost minds of misled people like this man. Revenge creates only more violence!"

First of all I should note I didn't say 'Let's go get some revenge!', I said Hashem, aka G-d, should avenge. But lets get real here, countries go to war to achieve political goals. When those goals are achieved, they generally stop, as war, even for the 'winner', is hell. People die, stuff is destroyed, lots of resources go to waste.

The Palestinians have been given offers, at various times, for some of their political goals, much of their political goals, and most of their political goals. They have consistantly said NO, and .. not .. implemented .. one .. single .. step .. on their side, ever.

The only way this makes sense is if they're messianic about their position, literally all or nothing, or LYING about their goal. In case one, Israel would have to cease to exist to meet it. In case two, I would also.

The Torah recognizes truth. Some things are not going to change the easy way.

Recognize evil. Maybe not every individual Palestinian family (and it was not this way in the past), but the leadership and the propaganda they've spread have made a society of evil, bent on the destruction of another. The blood of the many innocent Jews who died only for being Jews should be avenged, and the names of their murderers and those who created the environment for their murder, should be blotted out.

Kein Yehi Ratzon.
