Rav Kaduri on Practical Kabbalah

(Everything in parenthesis is the responsibility of the author of this blog.)

Interviewer: "Does the Rabbi (the great and holy rabbi and master kabbalist Rabbi Yitzchok Kaduri) deal with practical Kabbalah?"

The Rav: "No, we only deal with kavanot, not with practical Kabbalah. In practical kabbalah, there are hashbaot of malachim (the influencing of spiritual entities). We don't deal with that, only with prayer and kavanot (focused meditation on the forms of the names of G-d)."

"We don't perform wonders, no more than this, or hashbaot (the influencing of spiritual entities), only prayer (with kavanot)."
